Leadership and personal performance

I help people and businesses find their edge, cutting through complexity to focus on what really matters.

I’m Martin Riley, a business and leadership coach with over 20 years’ experience helping founders, directors and teams unlock performance, lead with confidence, and grow businesses that work, commercially, strategically and with integrity.

I’ve supported organisations at every stage of growth, from start-ups to household names, and helped individuals raise their game in high-pressure roles.

At the heart of my approach is simplifying the complex, asking the right questions, and bringing structure to ambition.

From Design Thinking to Business Strategy

Before becoming a coach, I trained and worked as a product designer at leading London design consultancies. That background taught me how to tackle complicated problems with clarity and creativity, and how to turn ideas into tools that work in the real world.

It’s this way of thinking that led me to develop The Business Jet Engine, a simple but powerful model that helps people plan more effectively, focus their energy and take meaningful action. It’s now trusted by businesses of all sizes and underpins both my book and how I work with clients.

Experience at Every Level

I’ve worked with leaders and teams across a wide range of sectors, helping them navigate change, improve performance and lead more effectively. During my 10 years with Gil Dove Associates in London’s West End, I was part of a team delivering consultancy to clients including the BBC, Channel 5, Saatchi & Saatchi and Wrigleys, working at the highest levels across creative and corporate industries.

At the same time, I personally supported senior leaders at organisations including the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Orange, Figleaves.com and Federal Mogul.

Since founding my own business in 2007, I’ve worked with some of the most respected businesses across the South East, including:

  • Parker Building Supplies
  • Lightning Fibre
  • The De La Warr Pavilion
  • Gaby Hardwicke
  • Switchplane
  • PRG Marketing Communications
  • Tomango
  • Ingenious

Whether supporting individuals one-to-one, working with senior teams or running my Jet Club Mastermind Groups, the aim is always the same: to create meaningful progress by helping people think clearly and act with confidence.

Outside of the office

Outside work, I spend as much time as I can outdoors. I have a lifelong love of nature, whether it’s hiking in the hills, sailing, skiing or exploring by motorbike. I’m also fascinated by what makes people tick, and the deeper questions around human nature and how we live.

Let's Talk

If you are ready to think more strategically, lead more effectively and create lasting change, I’d be happy to help.
